On Saturday, January 21, approximately 600 students from over 35 middle schools competed at Wallace Middle School to be in one of three select honor choirs. Gorzycki Middle School Choir had 25 students participate, with 15 of those students selected for the Region Choir or recognized with honors.
Girls must have placed in the top 13 and boys must have placed in the top 18 to be in the Region Choir. Girls who did not place in the Region Choir must have placed in the next top 5 spots and boys must have placed in the next top 10 spots to be recognized with honors. Rachel Card (8th chair) was selected to be in the 7th Treble Region Choir. Haley Arnette (7th chair), Raven Castro (13th chair), Leah Johnson (10th chair), and Eliana Rodriguez (6th chair) were selected to be in the 8th Treble Region Choir.
Jared Dale (13th chair), Gavin Manning (6th chair), and Ethan Berdofe (2nd chair) were selected to be in the TTB Region Choir. Students who were not selected for a Region Choir but were recognized with honors include the following: Sarah Moore (14th chair), Avery Williams (14th chair), Sydney Criswell (18th chair), Nikki Hicks (14th chair), Lindsey Lehman (14th chair), Danielle Pounds (17th chair), & Mari Takeda (14th chair). All of these students sing in the Gorzycki Middle School Choir under the direction of Mr. Brad Heckler.
